Amule how-to
Hi there everybody, I wonder if there is anywhere I can find a how-to specific to the Amule version for ReadyNAS running OS 6.1.8 firmware.
I installed the app no problem but there is no obvious way (to me, of course) to reach/load the config file and let the program start and connect to either the ed2k or Kademilia network.
(Amule for readynas version installed is 1.0.3)
Could anyone please shed some light?
Thanks
PJ

Re: Amule how-to
Hi, I have a ReadyNAS 312 using 6.1.8 firmware
I'm also trying to add amule app, it installs easily but once in the amule web interface it is not clear at all how to make it work. It shows no Server and says Kad not connected.
I've found the amule.conf file in the amule folder, I can edit it with notepad++ but I've no idea what should I change to make it work.
Anyone managed to use amule on OS 6?
Thanks

Re: Amule how-to
Ok I found the problem for ed2k, server.met file was missing in the amule folder, I've found one from emule-project.net website and added to the folder in my NAS. Now it connects to it.
I think the problem for Kad is similar, the issue is find a working url for amule.conf's "KadNodesUrl="
the "log" link on the eMule control panel is very useful to find out what the problem is

Managed to connect to KAD
I've downloaded nodes.dat file and uploaded that too in amule folder, then I edited amule.conf with
KadNodesUrl=http://www.emule-mods.it/download/nodes.dat
Not sure if both things are required but this made it work here.

Excellent work, fabNAS! Following your guide, I also get connection to both ed2k and kad! One more question, how to setup the static host?

Re: Amule how-to
Well, back to the starting point, actually worse, amule won't even launch now on my ReadyNAS312.
It worked fine as described in previous posts while I had firmware 6.1.8 but since when updated it to 6.1.9 it gives me initialisation error 22002010000.
Anybody who managed to use amule with 6.1.9 firmware?

Re: Amule how-to
Hi thanks, that is too complicated for my limited knowledge though 😄
I had problems with the frontview which for some reason died so I just did the factory default reboot which sorted all the problems out, now my eMule works on the last firmware, no more error. I suspect though that it can happen again on some future firmware update.
