Can't get rid of app, Logitech Media Server

Hi I installed Logitech Media Server on my rn104, but I don't need it. I tried to remove it from the web UI but it is still visible to computers on my network and still accessible on port 9000. When I reboot the NAS it reappears under installed apps. Any ideas how I can kill this pesky thing?

Re: Can't get rid of app, Logitech Media Server

Hello karl_w_w,

May we ask for the current version of Logitech app installed to the NAS? Have you tried uninstalling it using a different web browser?

Re: Can't get rid of app, Logitech Media Server

Hello karl_w_w,

Is this what's shown from the admin page of the NAS under Apps > Installed Apps? Should show Developer and Version installed.

If you have an update option, please try to update then once done, see if you will be able to remove.

It is shown inside the Logitech interface, it hasn't reappeared under apps yet.

Re: Can't get rid of app, Logitech Media Server

Hello karl_w_w,

If the app is still installed it should show under Apps > Installed App and Overview > Apps.

Does your Logitech interface point to the IP address of the NAS as a server? Maybe best if you give us a screenshot.

Re: Can't get rid of app, Logitech Media Server

Hello karl_w_w,

Thanks for the screenshots. The size is okay 🙂

The LAN IP address of the NAS is 192.168.1.2 it appears you have no Logitech installed under Apps but you are still able to access the UI for Logitech server via http://192.168.1.2:9000. Please check if all machines on the same LAN can access this. It is also possible that it is jsut a cache, try clearing the cache or use another web browser.

Looking forward to your update.

Definitely accessible from other PCs and browsers, and also still appears as a DLNA media server on the network.

Have a RN104, uninstalled Logitech Media Server app also but unlike OP the app is not listed in Apps yet see the device in Windows explorer as Logitech Media Server [*nasname*] and accessed on port 9000. I don't know what answer was provided to the OP but can you help me?

Re: Can't get rid of app, Logitech Media Server

I am pretty tech savvy I generally never post to forums of any kind because I don't get many problems and if I do I can fix them. First post to netgear forums for something minor and nothing, even when there's an apparent solution - nothing, Iam I doing this right? Theres more I like to say on the matter but I'd just be rambling. I've just decided to do a factory reset and be done with it.

Re: Can't get rid of app, Logitech Media Server

mdgm, your willingness to assist is appreciated, but why are solutions being PM'ed? They should be posted publicly so other users with the same problem can determine the root cause and fix it themselves. Isn't that the whole point of a forum?

Re: Can't get rid of app, Logitech Media Server

Solutions aren't being PMed, he has to remote into each person's NAS and fix the config manually. He can't tell us how to do that ourselves, I assume because then we'd be able to use it against other people.

Re: Can't get rid of app, Logitech Media Server

Still, the LMS app should be removed from apps until NG fix it..

Now people think is ok to install and then we are stuck.
