Cannot install any apps

For some reason I'm having problems apps on my new readynas 204.

when I install any 'available apps' or custom uploaded apps I see the following error:

System: cannot install the application X

X being Sickbeard for Readynas or Nzbget

any suggestions? Rights to check? Shares that need to be available?

I'm using firmware 6.6.1

Re: Cannot install any apps

Clear browser cache and restart browser.  Sometimes, for reasons I have not been able to figure, the hand-off of the package name to the NAS from the browser interface does not work properly.

Alternately, use another browser.  I've seen this happen in both IE and Chrome, so it's a NAS problem (in the javascript somewhere, I figure), but a "fresh" other browser doesn't usually have the same issue at the same time.

Re: Cannot install any apps

Thanks for your quick response but it's not the solution. I already tried:

- to restart my NAS

- to clear the cache of my browsers

- use different browsers

- even use different computers

But still nothing. When I try to upload and install an app I get the error message that I mentioned before.

When I try to use a default 'available' app I'm getting another error:

Editing of apps failed. List of applications is missing or is possible old. Would you like to renew the list at this time.

Any more suggestions?

Re: Cannot install any apps

Are you using a static IP address on the NAS?

If so, maybe check that you configured a DNS server.

Have you looked at install_debpkg.log?  It may have more useful information.

Re: Cannot install any apps

I just did look into the logs. I checked it and I do see some error messages but I don't have enough experience to fix things myself.

I also notified support for Netgear so I am waiting for a fix from them. Until now my new Nas which I bought just a week ago has been a great succes... (not)

I suspect that it might be related to this thread:

Can you send us your logs so we can take a look at what is happening to your setup?
