Hi all,
This will happen when you try to install on os 6.6.0 (x86)
Wed Oct 26 2016 1:26:46
Cannot install application plexmediaserver-ros6-binaries_1.2.3.2914-1ff0f18_amd64.deb.
Oct 26 01:24:37 xxx-xxx-xxx readynasd[3620]: ResetFailedUnit: GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.systemd1.NoSuchUnit: Unit fvapp-plexmediaserver.service is not loaded.
1.2.2 installed perfectly...
Ideas?
No help at PLEX either:
Link to Thread on PLEX forums. Short and closed.
Wich logs do you need?
Could it be right or something else?
The thing is that PLEX 1.2.2 works and installed fine.
Best regards
Hans

From the output you posted earlier, it looks like you just need to run "apt-get -f install", and let it upgrade all the extra packages you have installed to the current versions.

Did you add that ajenti repo manually?
What other apps do you have installed?
Can you send in your logs (see the Sending Logs link in my sig)?

ajenti, i dont know what that is.
About apps:
The apps i have installed is:
Anti-virus Plus
htop
istat
linux-dash
MySql Server
NZBGet
PHPMyAdmin
Plex media server
PlexPy
Python
SickRage
PHP5gd (special need for this. a must have for my webpage)
I have tried to install the following:
netdata NT ( did not work so un installed it)
Transmission( high focus on pirating in sweden mainly on torrents so i uninstalled this too)
I have tried to install everything thru "app market" but some where installed from whocares page earlier.
NZBGet still is whocares version.
I only want to have a clean system if possible, and the present apps installed.

From the output you posted earlier, it looks like you just need to run "apt-get -f install", and let it upgrade all the extra packages you have installed to the current versions.

Could that create other issues?
That is my biggest concern..

Re: Last update of PLEX, 1.2.3 fails to install on OS 6.6.0 (RN PRO x86)
I'm running PLEX Version 1.2.3.2914 currantly on my 516 with 6.6.0 on it just fine. Do you turn off PLEX and then upload a new copy or just leave it running and upload? I normally turn it off and then upgrade.
I also run Plex, PlexPL, *****, and *****. I did SickRage for a while until I could figure out how to get ***** running and reliably, which I like much better. Also *****. Of course I need MONO for ******, whatever the others need, and a few other things I needed to get **** installed by SSH. I was goiing to do istat, but the version for ReadyNAS is to old, for the iStat app on my iPhone. I need version 3 or newer. Which means more SSHing into my NAS to install it. Just not worth it at this time. I did just install netdata nt (Installed simply and works just fine) which shows a crapload of data in real time. I can see that though a web browser like PLEX and the others, so that's good enough. If/when someone makes a simple .deb file for istat 3.x for the ReadyNAS, I'll give it another go. I turn off netdata nt when I'm not using it. Why take up resources if I don't need to.
Do you need all that stuff? iStat? linux-dash? htop? I also stay away from torrents on my NAS. How much looking at stats do you need? The only one I really care about is PlexPL. So I know what's going on. Who's watching what, when, etc. I have a couple outside friends watching my content also.

I've found that taking a minimalist approach to apps and ssh installs generally does work out better in the long run.

Re: Last update of PLEX, 1.2.3 fails to install on OS 6.6.0 (RN PRO x86)
In a short answer yes...
I can do without linux -dash.. istat and htop is for outside and inhouse live stats.
And i don't to torrents...
Regarding to updating PLEX i always turn it off, update it, fetch a cup of coffe, wait and when its ready turn it on again.. 🙂
netdata i tried, did not work.. uninstalled it.
Anyway, sidetrail from my issue..
1. how do i clean out the unneccensary crap easiest ?
2. Is it "safe" to follow @Skywalkers advice and do:

Re: Last update of PLEX, 1.2.3 fails to install on OS 6.6.0 (RN PRO x86)
I agree here StephenB,
BUT i use all those apps and have been for a long time.. years..
Been running those apps on both os4 and now os6.
Had no issues earlier.
Last update of PLEX 1.2.2 went also well, it's now when i try to install 1.2.3 it fails.
Done lots of plex updates earlier without any issues. Same enviroment... no changes.

Re: Last update of PLEX, 1.2.3 fails to install on OS 6.6.0 (RN PRO x86)
I tried the apt-get -f install thing and it didn't update anything on my NAS. This is my results doing it.
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 44 not upgraded.
Have you tried just Removing PLEX from your NAS, and then ReInstalling? Does it Uninstall? Did you try Removing, and then Rebooting up and then installing PLEX? If that doesn't work, Uninstall and Reboot and then go in manually and Delete anything PLEX. My Plex is installed in .apps/plexmediaserver. You just may want to delete plexmediaserver. Reboot and try to Install once again. The only issue is losing your Database info. What content has been watched, etc. So you may not want to go to drastic.

Well, i went out on the edge of the cliff and jumped... Have to trust someone with "NETGEAR Expert" in their sig... 🙂
I ran "apt-get -f install" and it updated a load of stuff and after that i could install PLEX 1.2.4 even.
So THANK you very much for the help all of you!
@Skywalker A special thanks to you!
Now i just need to clean out stuff i dont need... Anyone feel like helping out? 😄
