ReadyNAS 104 wont install any apps FW 6.5.2 (and also 6.6.0)

After some time (was many time that I don't check the apps versions) I have checked the installed applications (one is the Antivirus).
I have seen that my version is old. For this reason I have tried to press the update button but I continue to receive error (impossible to install the app and the application list is older, but the system is not able to upgrade this list).

I have tried also if there are updates in the firmware (I had the 6.5.2), but also in this case the ReadyNAS notify me that there isn't updates (but I have seen on the readynas forum the version 6.6.0).

I have seen the solution related the firmware 6.5.0 (the source.zip to upload in the NAS) but also after this operation the system doesn't works.

After these tests I have downloaded the new firmware (6.6.0) and installed manually. Wait the reboot and after retried the upgrade of the Antivirus but also in this case fails.

I have checked also the DNS (currently set to the google dns 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) and seems that the internet connection is available.

There are additional tests to do?

Thanks for the support (and sorry for my English Man Embarassed )

No.

I just forced apt to update some packages:

That source.zip should not be installed any more. Can you send in your logs (see the Sending Logs link in my sig)?

Looks like you added a source that shouldn't be there

There are some broken packages too.

Re: ReadyNAS 104 wont install any apps FW 6.5.2 (and also 6.6.0)

As I wrote in the first topic, I have tried to send the source.zip with the settings to fix the update problem (I know, was for the FW 6.5.0 and not for the 6.5.2).

Could be this the current problem?

How I can fix the problem? Is it sufficient to resend the FW 6.6.0?

Re: ReadyNAS 104 wont install any apps FW 6.5.2 (and also 6.6.0)

That was after removing the source that shouldn't have been there and doing an

# apt-get update

I don't know whether forcing those packages to update via an

# apt-get -f install

was a good idea or not, but it's done. If you have problems you can always update your regular backup, do a factory default (wipes all data, settings, everything) to get a clean setup and restore your data from backup.

If you mess with things via SSH as you have done then things can break.

Re: ReadyNAS 104 wont install any apps FW 6.5.2 (and also 6.6.0)

Thank you! I have tried to install python to check if the installation of new applications works fine, and I can confirm that now I'm able to install correctly the apps.

I don't have changed no one script/file in the NAS. I have only used, in the past, pyload as download manager but after I removed it (for incompatibility with the newer firmwares). I don't know if this operation has corrupted some files.

I have only tried to login with the SSH, and navigate in the directories, without change anything (for what I remember Smiley Embarassed). Probably unintentionally I have done something that has created the problem or tried some wrong scripts.

Thanks for the support and for the current solution, I hope it's the ultimate solution Smiley Very Happy

Well I can see you tried installing Java using SSH. I can see clear evidence of this.

I don't remember. I need to ask to my son that plays with Minecraft if he has done some test on the NAS to install a Minecraft server or similar (he has done many of these changes on his laptop Man Frustrated).

Thanks again for the support
