SuperSync launches SuperSync NAS- One Click iTunes server
SuperSync has been a popular cross-platform iTunes music library management software for mac and windows pc. We announced the Beta release of SuperSync Server for NAS v1.0, The beta is now available for popular NAS systems including ReadyNAS
SuperSync Server 1.0 addresses the complexity and manageability limitations of transfering media files from iTunes to the NAS. SuperSync Server 1.0 is the first in a series of planned releases designed to allow NAS users to take advantage of SuperSync’s music library management capabilities of merging, syncing, transferring music between NAS, Computers & laptops with a single click.
With SuperSync desktop version, we were successful in helping customers manage their ever increasing iTunes libraries. With the growing popularity of network attached storage appliances, we wanted a tool that would help users manage media on their NAS in the easiest and simplest possible fashion.
SuperSync Server integrates with ReadyNAS and communicates with the SuperSync Desktop to transfer and manage music, video and playlists with just a single click. SuperSync Server is an easy to install, add-on application to simplify the management of music libraries throughout the network. Users can seamlessly connect from the Macs, PCs, iOS devices to the SuperSync Server on NAS to sync, merge, transfer, compare the music libraries and manage music & videos with just a single click.
SuperSync Server is an easy to install, add-on application to simplify the management of music libraries throughout the network.
The SuperSync Server Highlights:
• Centralized iTunes music management
• Easy, Comprehensive, Automated
• Access Anywhere Anytime
• Works across multiple OS
With SuperSync Server Beta release, we believe we have addressed a major pain area for the NAS users. However, we need the support of the ReadyNAS community by participating in our Beta.
SuperSync Server is currently free for ReadyNAS. T
SuperSync Server Beta 1.0 is available now for use with NAS systems like ReadyNAS. You can download the beta from the SuperSync website at http://supersync.com/server.php. The SuperSync desktop version is also available for testing and we can help you provide with trial keys for testing purposes.
SuperSync server is an open beta that is expected to last through the end of April.
We look forward to the community helping us out in testing SuperSync Server and the ReadyNAS team helping us with the final integration with ReadyNAS.
Looking forward to your help. Thank you very much.

Re: SuperSync launches SuperSync NAS- One Click iTunes serve
Hi, big fan of supersync desktop apps. I'm using ReadyNAS Duo V2 (ARM)...everytime I try to upload the *.deb file I receive a package error. Is the app built for my platform? Thx

Re: SuperSync launches SuperSync NAS- One Click iTunes serve
Hi Kevin,
Thank you for your post. Really glad to know that you have been a SuperSync Desktop App fan too :). We could test SuperSync Server with ReadyNAS Duo V2 and help you with the solution. I would confirm the same as soon as possible.
Just to give you and everyone on the forum an update, we are close to releasing an upgrade on the SuperSync Server app with most of the beta bugs fixed and a few more capabilities added.
Regards,
Darshin

SuperSync Server v1.0.4 beta available now: iTunes server
Hi Everyone,
Thank you very much for feedback and input. Based upon the bug submissions (not many of them gladly!) and based on some basic feature recommendations and must haves, we have incorporated the changes in the new release and its available for users to try. You can download it from our website: https://www.supersync.com/downloads/SuperSync-1.0.4-20140419.all.deb
The version 1.0.4's key highlight is a better control over music directory on NAS, key root login bugs resolved and better playlist management and smoother integration with SuperSync Desktop.
I would request you all to kindly try this new version out and provide us with the feedback. If there's any support or help needed from our end, please feel free to contact me or reply to this thread.
Kind Regards,

Re: SuperSync launches SuperSync NAS- One Click iTunes serve
Hi Guys,
Thx for the message. I'm still getting an 'Architecture is bad' message when trying to add the addon in Frontview. I am using an DUO V2 that runs on the ARM platform. Normally the add-ons I install are *.bin files. Are the Debian packages for ReadyNAs x86 or Sparc platforms? Sorry I'm no expert in this area.

Re: SuperSync launches SuperSync NAS- One Click iTunes serve
Hi Kevin,
We don't support FrontView. Only the newer .deb installers. For now, only .deb is supported. We will definitely support it in later version but since currently we have a tight deadline for the GA release, it might not be possible for this version. We've got a few of the ReadyNAS customers who've got it installed and its working like a charm for them, so we could get their input on the ReadyNAS version they are using. The Debian packages are no-arch, meaning they should support either of the platforms. We use java, so as long as Java is running on either, it should work. Ill have someone from my suppor team work with you to help you resolve this or if some tweaks are needed, we could have it being supported in our next release.
Anybody else on the forum who is testing SuperSync Server and facing similar issues?
Please feel free to ask us any questions you have.
Regards,
Darshin

Re: SuperSync launches SuperSync NAS- One Click iTunes serve
My x86 install on OS6 went pretty smoothly, albeit a slower process than I expected. (I had assumed it failed tbh, but the successful message eventually appeared).
I setup admin read/write passwords as necessary with ease. And installed the desktop version on W7 with no hassle. SSS seemed to happily find the music on the NAS and ran it's process. That was as far as I could go and I haven't had time to go back and finish since. I'm hoping to be able to soon.
So far, so good and nice and simple.

Re: SuperSync launches SuperSync NAS- One Click iTunes serve
The updates released today have solved a couple of issues, though I''m not sure if stability has become an issue with the the Windows release... More testing required at my end.

Re: SuperSync launches SuperSync NAS- One Click iTunes serve
I very much want to use this on my Ultra 4 Plus (or if I must on my NV+ (v1)). How do you install it?
I posted this thread on a Mac site, and definitely others see the potential as well.

Re: SuperSync launches SuperSync NAS- One Click iTunes serve
I did. It says to navigate to Web interface and upload the .deb file, but if course the U4P can't handle that. Above in this thread it says FromView isn't supported, so I'm not sure how to do it. It sounds like it might be possible by SSH, but I don't see instructions.

Your other option is to install OS6 on the ultra. That's not supported by Netgear but there are instructions here on how to do it,
