readynas pro 6 is not playing nice.

I upgraded the frimware from 6.7.?? to 6.8.  After firmware I have attempted to back up data.  During transfer, nas has become unresponsive and disappeared from my network.   Anyhow, I rebooted the nas and it came up with :   ERR used disks  (dirty disks).   I reinstalled OS and then it just gets stuck on checking FS. or after a reboot, i return to my dirty disk error.  Please help...:)

Your disks are healthy.

The 4GB OS volume wouldn't mount and I couldn't repair it, so I wiped that. All your settings and logs have been wiped, but your data volume is still there.

Re: readynas pro 6 is not playing nice.

Hello Groffo,

After firmware upgrade the NAS was still fine the problem occured while you are doing a backup job. The concern may require assistance from the engineers and/or higher tier who can remote in to the NAS and fix this from the backend. You should contact support right away and OS re-install should not been done since it will erase important logs. Can the raidar still detect the NAS on the network?

Re: readynas pro 6 is not playing nice.

Hello Groffo,

Can you please try to download the logs of the NAS and provide us a copy, you may use file sharing website like wikisend and just PM me the download link.

Re: readynas pro 6 is not playing nice.

Marty, thank you so much for your help.

Raidar is detecting the NAS, however, it will not allow me to access the admin page via raidar or by htttp://192.168.1.32/admin

Is there some other way to obtain logs?

Raidar is just showing the "previously formatted disk(s) detected (dirty disks)" error in statusraidar screenshot.png

Re: readynas pro 6 is not playing nice.

Hello Groffo,

It does appear that the NAS requires to be on telnet/tech support mode and assistance from our engineers and/or higher tier who can remote in to the NAS and fix this from the backend.

How do I go about that?  is that through the community or do I contact support?

You can't use support, because OS 6 isn't supported on the pro.

Perhaps wait and see if a Netgear person here offers to take a look.
