relevant loss on sharpness

I'm an enthusiastic user of Pothos II 😄
But when I compare pictures in Photos II between any other picture viewer on my Windows PC I can detect a relevant loss of sharpness in Photos II.
It seems that the conversion of the original pictures is less than ideal and needs a noticeable optimization.

Is it planned to to work on that?

Regards from Germany

Re: relevant loss on sharpness

It concerns a variety of resolution:
4000 x 3000
3288 x 2472
2048 x 1536

The resolution is not really relevant.....

Re: relevant loss on sharpness

... and on looking closely you see a loss of contrast

Is it possible to use another converter ?

Thanks
