Any known problems with samsung galaxy 3 with ftp connection

I am trying to use the ftp feature as I did on an older smart phone and putting in my share username and password but all I get is "goodbye" followed by a code. I tried going on readynas on my pc and it seems to work with the information I provided the phone.

What client are you using on the phone?

Are you using WiFi or the cellular network?

FTP works well with my galaxy S2, using ES File Explorer.

I'm using readynas remote app on a samsung galaxy 3 with 4 dot whatever. My old phone had 2.3.3. I can use cifis but I still want to only see my folders.
