Can't Access Shares ReadyNAS Remote
Hi,
I can log in to ReadyNAS Remote, but get blank Finder AND Explorer windows - can't see any shares.
OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) / Windows XP
ReadyNAS NV+
Security Mode = Share
RAIDiator 4.1.6
No error messages, just no shares.
What am I missing?
Thanks for your help.

Re: Can't Access Shares ReadyNAS Remote
Cap1 helped me sort this out.
The solution was to go to Frontview / Installed Add-Ons/ReadyNAS Remote
The service has to be started, and the "green light" button wasn't a reliable indicator.
To turn it on, click off check box, then Save.
Then click on the check box, and save again. That should do it.
On XP, all needed was to start the ReadyNAS Remote program, and log in.
On OS X, first log in, then Command-K and Connect to SMB://5.xxx.xxx.xxx (static ip assigned by ReadyNAS Remote)

Re: Can't Access Shares ReadyNAS Remote
Damn buggy software!
I wonder if this sort of problem is across the board with Frontview.
I have to do the same sort of procedure to disable write cache when the system boots. That is, FV says that write cache is disable but it isnt. The answer s to enable it, save, then disable it and save again. I have to do this every time I reboot as the settings are not preserved. So my question is, is the setting of ReadyNas Remote in FV preserved on reboot or have we to disable/enable it manually to get it going again?
Anywaym thanks for posting the solution. It worked for me.
Got to love the hyped advertising spiel that it only takes two minutes to setup and is easy. If you dont know to use the forums for answers almost noting is easy on the ReadyNAS! Bah....
