Hello all,
I have just finished setting up my ReadyNas 10400. I installed Transmission 2.82 (the one availalbe in the Netgear Apps Catalogue) and so far I have been able to download Torrents with it.
However, as soon as the Downlaods are compelted, I cannot find the default fodler where the files are in my ReadyNass and no Idea how to access them...
i have the files in my readynas, but I cannot find them anywhere.
I have tried to use the Transmission Remote GUI but, when I enter the ReadyNass IP address, User and OPassword, i receive the error that the "host refused connection"
I am using the same username and password that the Transmission webpage asks me when I lunch Transmission bt it doesn't work.
Can anyone help me?
Thank you

Just call your share Transmission and create a folder in it called Downloads
Then in the Web UI show the path as /data/Transmission/Downloads
Apologies as I may have confused you re "/data/" as generally many share paths need that prefix

Open the Transmission webpage from your NAS, click the spanner (bottom left of screen) and a pop up will appear, on it the directory where torrents are downloaded to is shown (which you can change if required) . It needs to be a share on your NAS with a path begining with /data/

Re: Cannot Find Transmission Folders and downloaded files
It's a long time since I set Transmission up....... maybe it is User:admin and the NAS password?

Re: Cannot Find Transmission Folders and downloaded files
Ok.
In the meanwhile, i removed and resintalled Transmission and made a reset of the User Rights.
When I go in Shares, in the admin page of my Nas, I can see 2 shares:
- Home Folder (admin)
- Data (which is the one I created)
I have deleted all the standard ones as I didn't need them.
I checked the spanner and the folder showed there was:
/apps/nastools-transmission/downloads
At this point, i have created the following folder:
/Data/Transmission/apps/nastools-transmission/downloads
And I have pasted the above in the windows replacing:
/apps/nastools-transmission/downloads
I then started downloading a torrent to test it.
I now get the error Permission Denied in Transmission (i didn't have this error before)
When I browse the Nas from the admin Shares page, the path of the folder i have created is showed as:
\NasNetgear\Data\Data\Transmission\apps\nastools-transmission\downloads
Do I have to create and additional Share?

If you are using XRAID, then your volume is also named Data. The volume is also shared (though you do need to use admin credentials). Having two shares with the same name can cause problems.
I suggest renaming your Data share to something else. I'm not sure if that will solve your transmission problem, but there are definitely other problems that it will prevent.

I added /Data/ before the /share/folder
And it finally worked
Thank you very much

Re: Cannot Find Transmission Folders and downloaded files
Great
As far as Remote Transmission goes it is possible to use User:admin with no password
If that fails I think it may be worthwhile uninstalling and re-installing Remote Transmission i.e. start again
