LogAnalyzer package download?

Where can I obtain a copy of the LogAnalyzer package?

I had to reinstall my Readynas and it seems that the package no longer appears on the Apps page.
Thanks!

Re: LogAnalyzer package download?

Are you running 4.2.x firmware?

It is here: https://community.netgear.com/t5/ReadyNAS-Storage-Apps-Current/PHPLogCon-Loganalyzer/td-p/694197

A direct download link to the download is http://www.readynas.com/contributed/super-poussin/PRO-PHPLogCon_1.5.bin

There's an older 1.3 version, if you are looking for that the download link is http://www.readynas.com/contributed/super-poussin/PRO-PHPLogCon_1.3.bin

Re: LogAnalyzer package download?

I was looking for a package for 6.x.

Sorry if I posted in the wrong forum, I assumed "old" meant, "no longer shipped with".

Unrelated though, I do though still have a 4.x 'Nas that I only spin up if I need to look at a very old backup. It is a decade old and still works 🙂

There were a lot of issues reported here with the OS 6 package. It wrote the log information to the OS partition, and that often filled the partition (resulting in a loss of access of the web ui, damaged share configurations, etc).  I'm not seeing a notice here on when it was taken down, and it might not be compatible with current firmware.

You can still find the download via wayback.com but I don't recommend using it.

Re: LogAnalyzer package download?

Any hints on what the URL would be?

I have been using LogAnalyzer on ReadyNas for years. I am unsurprised to hear that the default package would fill a partition ( well, sort of... that would have required changing the default rsyslog setup ).

If there is a repository for the package I can provide details either there ( or via reply on this comment ) on what you need to change to make it scale. I personally have rsyslog stick its data in MySQL and then have LogAnalyzer read the data from the tables rsyslog creates in the database. I do point the base data tables from MySQL write to share and not to /var/lib/mysql ( which really should be obvious and the default for anyone using a database on a ReadyNAS ). LogAnalyzer will then just read the data from MySQL.

I would recommend you take a second at look at LogAnalyzer on ReadyNAS, it is a nice compact solution which scales well for any home/small business use case.

https://web.archive.org/web/20170420232406/https://apps.readynas.com/pages/?page_id=9 is the 2017-04-20 version of the app page.  The download link for loganalyzer on that archived page still works.

The download link doesn't work.

Does anyone know where I can find the LogAnalyzer download package? This is for an RN202 running OS 6.10.0. Thanks!

Yes it does.  All you needed to do was scroll down the archived page, find the app and download it by clicking on "Download for: all devices"

Or you can use the direct wayback download link: https://web.archive.org/web/20160517130205/http://apt.readynas.com/packages/readynasos/dists/apps/po...

No idea if this will work with 6.10.0, and there is a history of people running into issues with this particular app.

Re: LogAnalyzer package download?

Thank you @StephenB! Installed LogAnalyzer and it seems to work fine. When I tried the download link a few minutes ago it seemed to get stuck, but working ok now.

Any pointers on issues to look out for with OS 6.10.0?

I haven't been running it that long myself.

PHP7 seems to be broken (needs to be recompiled against the new Apache web server), and there are quite a few folks here who are having problems getting their system to fully boot after they install the upgrade.

Also, if you use the antivirus software - they are eliminating that on the RN100 series (which is no longer able to run it).  Likely that's because of the limited memory (512 MB) in that platform.

I don't use PHP (or the AV service), and so far I haven't run into any installation issues.  I've installed it on three of my four NAS (the fourth is resyncing right now).

Re: LogAnalyzer package download?

That installation package, at least for that version, made a number of modifications to /etc/* that it should not have.
I just moved the app from ReadyNAS and I am now hosting it on a FreeNAS server.

It would be nice to see Netgear put in some effort to keep apps like this running.
