Re: Problems downloading ReadyNAS Photos 2.0 RC1
So since you're looking for Photos I software, I guess you have a NV+ v1 (How to tell whether I have a Duo v1 or Duo v2 or NV+ v1 or NV+ v2)?

If you’ve enabled ReadyNAS Photos option in Frontview, you will need the ReadyNAS Photos Desktop software to export photos to the ReadyNAS from your PC, Mac, or Linux system. The link for this software is available from Frontview.

Re: Problems downloading ReadyNAS Photos 2.0 RC1
Hi mdgm,
Yes I have the NV+ v1 model.
I've managed to download the photos software via the Frontview link, but after installing it, it says it's version 1.1?? I was hoping to install version 2.0 so that I could organise my photo albums alphabetically.
Regards

Re: Problems downloading ReadyNAS Photos 2.0 RC1
Considering that Photos I is being EOL'd (http://www.readynas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=58&t=60875), I guess they've pulled the non-production software

Photos II isn't available on a duo v1 anyway. Is that what you have? (if your firmware is 4.1.x you have a v1, 5.x.x is the v2).

StephenB is correct. alistairburch, please check if your unit is v1 or v2. If it is v2, please update this post.

Re: Problems downloading ReadyNAS Photos 2.0 RC1
What does How to tell whether I have a Duo v1 or Duo v2 or NV+ v1 or NV+ v2 indicate you have?
Some v1 units had a sticker on them with a "v2". Confusing I know but at that time NetGear presumably wasn't planning to release a new product called a Duo/NV+ v2.

DEar Sir - mine says RND2000v2 on the unit - so I presume v2.

Don't presume, check using the link above. Regrettably you cannot trust the label on the unit.

Re: Problems downloading ReadyNAS Photos 2.0 RC1
Only the v1 would link to that software as Photos II (the version of ReadyNAS Photos on the Duo v2) is completely managed via the web browser. So you must have a Duo (v1). Photos I (the version of ReadyNAS Photos installed on the Duo v1) is EOL'd.

Based on the LInk and the "soft" check and the "hard" check, I would appear to have the v1.

So if I have v1 and Frontview has a link to ReadyNas photos that is EOLifed - have I been sold a dud?

Re: Problems downloading ReadyNAS Photos 2.0 RC1
Not sure its a "dud" exactly. It has a lot of features that are still missing on the duo v2 - though it is slower, and as you point out, it doesn't support the new Readynas photos 2.
If you exchange it, the models to look at are the ultra/ultra plus/pro 2 and the duo v2. I like the ultra/ultra plus/pro lines myself.

I have version Firmware 4.1.8. From what I am reading, that means that I cannot use the Photo functionality. Is there another way I can use this device to share photos with family members that are not close by?
