RN10200 Offline, HDD LED not illuminated
Ive tried every article/ chat that I could find with no success.
Seems like my NAS is not booting up all the way HDD LED's stays off, I've formatted both HDD, refitted without and with partitions, ran through boot setup, fact restore and os reset with no response, USB restore nothing.

What happens if you power up with no disks at all?
- do you see any LEDs light?
- does RAIDar find the NAS and give you a "no disks" status"?

Not a good sign, as it normally will find the NAS when it is diskless.
Did you successfully use RAIDar before this issue?

Re: RN10200 Offline, HDD LED not illuminated
No, never had the need.
This issue only occured after the firmware update

What were you running before the update attempt, and what were you updating to?

Not sure, been struggling for a while now.
It was a long time since it was updated.

Just wondering if you ignored this:
- ReadyNAS 102, 104, and 2120 systems must not be updated directly to 6.10.x from 6.3.x or older firmware. They must first be updated to either 6.2.5 or 6.3.5 then to 6.5.2 and then to 6.10.x.

When you power up the NAS diskless, do you see the NAS in your router's attached device list?

Re: RN10200 Offline, HDD LED not illuminated
The NAS automatically detected firmware.
No, the mac is not populating. This is why I suspect the NAS is not booting up 100%, almost like it is stuck in the firmware update.

Even diskless?
The NAS normally boots from the disks, so I am trying to sort out if the issue is disk-related or not.

Still could have been a corrupted OS partition. But apparently not.
All I can suggest is trying the USB recovery again (perhaps with a different USB drive).
Note the instructions for ARM at the bottom of the page.

Re: RN10200 Offline, HDD LED not illuminated
Hello @Dreganues
Could you please try doing OS reinstall once if you are able to access the boot menu.
OS-reinstall is a safe method and the data is not impacted at all. OS reinstall reinstalls the firmware from the internal flash to the disks. The OS reinstall boot mode can be useful when the system crashes and corrupts some configuration files. OS reinstall boot mode also resets some settings on your storage system, such as Internet protocol settings and the administrator password, to defaults.
Please find the link for reference : https://kb.netgear.com/22891/How-do-I-access-the-boot-menu-on-my-ReadyNAS-104-204-214-or-314

Hi Nivedita
I've tried this a few times, no luck. Power LED starts flashing same as bootup sequence then nothing.

Re: RN10200 Offline, HDD LED not illuminated
hen you said the USB recovery did "nothing", do you mean it didn't even seem to actually do the recovery (no activity on the USB drive and didn't shut down in the end), or simply that it didn't fix the issue. If the former, then do try again with another USB device. If the latter, then you may have some sort of hardware issue, though you usually can't even get to the boot menu in that case.

Re: RN10200 Offline, HDD LED not illuminated
I've tried a few USB's.
I can access the boot menu, HDD LED 2 option, local on-board storage chip restore.
Articles only refer to other models for external USB restore, does not seem like the RN10200 supports USB restore.

Re: RN10200 Offline, HDD LED not illuminated
Please advise on the below:
I have a 2 bay NAS, must I skip step 3 and hold in the reset for 30s or Backup for 15s and then reset for 30s
- Power down your ReadyNAS storage system.
- Insert the prepared USB drive into the front USB port.
- Press and hold the Backup button, then power on the ReadyNAS system and continue to hold the Backup button for up to 15 seconds, depending on your ReadyNAS model.
- If your ReadyNAS system is an RN316, RN516, or RN716X:
- After powering on the ReadyNAS system, wait for the backlight around the touchpad to turn off.
- Instead of the Backup button, press and hold the OK button for up to 30 seconds, until the LCD confirms that the ReadyNAS is attempting to boot from the USB drive.
- If your ReadyNAS system is an RN420, RN520, or RN620 series:
- After powering on the ReadyNAS system, wait for the backlight on the navigational buttons to turn off.
- Instead of the Backup button, press and hold the OK button (the center of the navigational buttons) for up to 30 seconds, until the LCD confirms that the ReadyNAS is attempting to boot from the USB drive.
- If your ReadyNAS system has an LCD, the LCD confirms that the ReadyNAS is in USB Recovery mode.
- If your ReadyNAS system is a 2-bay model, you might not know when the unit is entering USB Recovery mode unless your USB drive has an activity indicator. If your USB drive does not have an activity indicator, hold the Reset button for a full 30 seconds to ensure that your ReadyNAS system is in USB Recovery mode.
- If your ReadyNAS system is an RN316, RN516, or RN716X:

Year, that is confusing. I think the intent is to hold down the backup button for 30 seconds (not reset).

Re: RN10200 Offline, HDD LED not illuminated
Finally managed!
Held boot in for 30s.
Boot and Power LED kept on flashing, left it for a few hours no change.
Tried different firmware version on usb then it finally took.
Loaded RAIDar, formatted HDD, busy syncing data.
Thank you for all the support guys!
