ReadyNAS RND4210 boots but undetectable on network as 192.168.1.6

Our ReadyNS boots and states it is ready as 192.168.1.6 but I can't ping it or connect. Do I need special software or something? Is it "broken". I see USB ports. If i found a Male A to Male A cable, should it ready like a flash drive? I am LOST!

Is it configured to use a static address, or DHCP?

Is your home network also configured to use 192.168.1.x addresses?

Perhaps try installing RAIDar on a PC, and see if it can detect the NAS.  https://kb.netgear.com/20684/ReadyNAS-Downloads

No.  It needs to be connected via ethernet.  It is possible to extract the data from the hard drives, but let's first sort out the network issue.

The software found it but states "Your NETGWAR storage is not accessible from this computer. Check your network settings." How do I change network settings to see 192.168.1.6?

What is the IP address of your PC?

Did you change routers or move the ReadyNAS to a new network?
