ReadyNAS Remote Breaks Wi-Di in Windows 8.1

Looking for some help with undoing the damage which ReadyNAS Remote caused to one of my systems. I am at a small law firm where we have a ReadyNAS 102. On our laptops we use ReadyNAS Remote to access our files remotely. Additionally we use Intel Wi-Di (wireless display) for connecting wirelessly to displays to make presentations. In Windows 8.0 there was a stand alone software package from Intel that allowed the wireless display to work. In Windows 8.1 this functionality was integrated into the operating system. Installing ReadyNAS Remote however causes the option to "add a wireless display" to completely disappear in Windows 8.1 thereby breaking the functionality. I've been able to recreate this on two different laptops. On one laptop I was able to undo the damage by using System Restore. On the other laptop ReadyNAS Remote was installed at the time of installing Windows 8.1 and therefore system restore is not an option. I tried uninstalling ReadyNAS Remote to no avail. Additionally after uninstalling ReadyNAS Remote I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Intel Network and Graphics drivers to no avail. Any assistance with this would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

Has anyone else experienced this issue? Has anyone discovered a solution?

It is ridiculous that I should have to choose between wireless display and readynas remote..

You'll want to contact NTGR support for investigation into this issue.

Agreed. Netgear makes WiDi receivers, so they certainly have everything they need to reproduce this.

One thing to try is going into the Windows device manager, finding the "leaf networks adapter" in the networks adapter section, and disabling it (right-click). That could allow your WiDi to function, and should be much easier than uninstalling/reinstalling the full application. To use remote, you'd just need to re-enable it.

This could be a temporary workaround, it clearly isn't a proper fix.
