Security Issue?
Hi,
I am having trouble getting ReadyNAS remote to login (flashing icon in the menu bar) so I took a look at the console log (OS X 10.8) and noticed the following:
9/20/12 11:13:31.589 AM ReadyNAS Remote[12179]: NetworkManager: login:<user> password:<password>
9/20/12 11:13:31.589 AM ReadyNAS Remote[12179]: IsLoggedIn: NO
Only <user> was my actual user name and <password> was my actual (ready nas) password, all in plain text.
Not a big issue for me personally, but seems to be a rather severe security hole. Is this new? This was ReadyNAS 1.0.34.
Regards,
Bill

Re: Security Issue?
Yikes. Clear text passwords saving in a global system log that other system users could view...

Re: Security Issue?
I'm informed that this issue has been fixed. So we can expect this fix to be included in the next update to the Mac OS X client.
