Update transmission on Ultra 2 and Ultra 4
I would like to update transmission from 2.60 to the latest (2.71?). When I click the update button in frontview it says it fails to download the image from the server. What to do?
Another question is, when transferring transmission settings from one readynas to another, is it possible to keep the stats or will they be reset?

Re: Update transmission on Ultra 2 and Ultra 4
You could try downloading the add-on (http://www.readynas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=24272) and installing it over the top via Add-Ons > Add new.
Don't know the answer to the second question.

I think the stats are stored in stats.json which is in the .transmissionbt\info folder in th root of c:
maybe you can copy this over.

Re: Update transmission on Ultra 2 and Ultra 4
Herbieo the path might be a bit different on the Ultra as the Ultra add-on is developed by super-poussin whereas the ReadyNASXtras.com add-on for ARM is developed by WhoCares?

Re: Update transmission on Ultra 2 and Ultra 4
Thanks for the quick replies!
I could download and install the new version on top of the old one. I'm just not sure whether that will reset the settings so that I have to re-set the data location for thousands of torrents. I'm mainly using the Ultra 2 right now so I suppose I could try it out on the Ultra 4, and when I know what option is the best, I'll do it that way and transfer all the stuff to the Ultra 4.
When I open the stas.json in notepad, it seem to contain some information about the total amount of information uploaded and downloaded but not anything about how they are distributed among the torrents. But I will give it a shot as well. Maybe that information is stored elsewhere. I think I will try to copy the whole addons-config\Transmission.
Does anyone know what the repair transmission button is for? When clicking it, I just get some php-file.

I would presume it just checks the installation to verify everything is working as it should.

Re: Update transmission on Ultra 2 and Ultra 4
The stats.json file only containts stats about the total use of Transmission, not about each seperate torrent. I've got no idea where those stats are stored.
Installing a new version over the old version leaves the settings like they were (including directories, active torrents etc).
The repair transmission button fixes a couple of things that might go wrong with transmission (no idea which actually) and only works if you have a php-add-on installed on your nas.
