Where to look for addon list for v2's
I couldn't find a device specific forum so for now this goes here 😐
Last time I checked the addons spot on the readynas page it didn't have v2 addons listed and I don't believe I saw the itunes server(firefly ) listed on that list.
I'm thinking on a budget and looking to in time get a v2 or better for my home device and trying to rule what I can expect to get from it (addon's as of this post) I'm thinking on the v2's since they are specifically "home" devices and when I use replicate I don't wish to spend 200 on it ( I'm still hoping on a trustworthy site having cheaper than here[to which I can't get the word to be the link without typing it out :x] http://license.buynetgear.com/store?Action=DisplayHomePage&Locale=en_US&SiteID=netgsoft)
My intentions leave me wanting the option to easily backup to a place where once place I may have limited access and unsure of what router spec would be outside my home and rsync may not be an option due.
Thanks for any help in this matter

Re: Where to look for addon list for v2's
When you can't find a device specific forum use the General Questions Forum or in this case General Discussion on ReadyNAS Add-ons. To help the devs to quickly find feedback on issues found with beta releases we need to try to keep the beta forum as clean as possible of questions about production firmware.
There are community add-ons here: Community Add-ons for ReadyNAS NV+/Duo v2
Whilst the Firefly service is installed it is not configured at this time. Hopefully it'll be added as a feature in a future firmware update.
Some add-ons such as ReadyNAS Remote and ReadyNAS Replicate would show under Add-ons > Available in the Dashboard. ReadyNAS Photos II is pre-installed. What other add-ons are you looking for?

Re: Where to look for addon list for v2's
Those are about the few right now , replicate, firefly, dlna, and remote with ftp (which I think is in the current firmware and ftp since its required for the android app). If I went for the ultra and planned for the license I know I'd want to mess with sifka and orb since I have alot of photos and media. I've been the voluntary photo archiver for my local family.
I bought my duo v1 at the time since it had the speed and connections/power options I wanted vs usb on my dgnd3700 router. It's not even listed on the main page so I want be towards newer features like replicate and usb 3.0 when I am ready to use them.
Also any idea if any of the current devices is "futureproofed" with ipv6 and large userbase(v1 I think had a limit of like 40,000[which family-wise won't be used up]
Thanks

ReadyDLNA and FTP are included in the firmware. There are ReadyDLNA update add-ons available: http://www.readynas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=76&t=27946

Do note that you can't migrate your disks from the v1 to the v2 due to the different RAID format. So do make sure you're getting what you think you are. See How to tell whether I have a Duo v1 or Duo v2 or NV+ v1 or NV+ v2

IPv6 should be able to be added to the Duo/NV+ v2 in a future firmware update. IPv6 is already on x86 ReadyNAS (e.g. NVX/Ultra/Pro)

Not sure what the limit is but it would be something very large as well. Way more users than you'll ever need.

Well I figured I'd take one drive out and let it get set up and then push across like with rsync that I know shouldn't be too bad as long as I'm local. I've got 2x 2TB's and a 1.5TB so I can prep it and then move the others over after users and data is up and running. I'd probably do the same if I went to the ultra devices. I'd assume as long as they are on the same subnet they can just point to the name of nas2 and select folders that way as well.
That's the cheapest way I can go without pushing up from pc and back down to a new nas(at least that's the way I'm thinking right now).
When I do buy the nas I'm going to get it from amazon or newegg , so I think I'm in the green as long as I check the version ids listed (and they have good return if they screw up and send me the wrong ones  ).

This will work, but of course you will lose redundancy on the source array when you remove a drive. Getting a single new starter disk would overcome that problem, but of course will cost a bit more.

Rsync is also pretty slow. What I've done (migrating from a duo to a pro) is do a backup with NFS first, then follow that up with rsync. I don't recall if the v2 has nfs, though if it doesn't you could begin with cifs.
