Join domain option missing from ReadyNas NV+
Good evening,
I've purchased a used Netgear ReadyNas NV+ running RAIDiator 4.1.14 [1.00a043] which is missing an option to join a Windows domain.
According to the manual, under the Security menu should be a third option to set the security type but this is missing from mine.
Any suggestions as to how to join the device to my domain?

What are you seeing on the security mode tab?

I'm only seeing "Admin Password" and "User & Group Accounts"

In other words the Security Options tab is missing. I've tried the latest beta software to see if that helps.
Thanks,
Steve

Re: Join domain option missing from ReadyNas NV+
Security mode appears on my NV+ (running 4.1.15-T3) - between admin password and user/group accounts.
My Duo runs the same firmware, but it doesn't show up there. (my recollection is that it is only supported on the NV+).
Is the model on frontview's home page saying "ReadyNAS NV+" or something else (NV perhaps???)

Re: Join domain option missing from ReadyNas NV+
Here is the front page:
Hostname: | nas1 |
Model: | ReadyNAS NV+ [X-RAID] |
Serial: | XXXXXXXXXXXXX |
Firmware: | RAIDiator 4.1.15-T3 [1.00a043] |
Memory: | 256 MB [2.5-3-3-7] |
MAC address: | E0:91:F5:F1:83:C4 |
IPv4 address:: | 10.0.0.248 |
Volume C: | Online, X-RAID, 3 disks, 0% of 3692 GB used |
It says ReadyNAS NV+ on the main screen.

Re: Join domain option missing from ReadyNas NV+
So it knows the platform, but for some reason isn't giving you the domain choice.
I think Netgear will need to chime in here.

I've already done a factory reset of the device as it doesn't yet contain any useful data.

Would NetGear help with such an old device?

If you are the original purchaser, they might. support.netgear.com would charge (per-incident support fee). Not sure that is currently priced at, there were some posts a while ago that suggested US per-incident support was about $75.
Some Netgear folks here might be willing to take a look (we'll need to give them a chance to chime in though).

Re: Join domain option missing from ReadyNas NV+
I've enabled root ssh access and edited the smb conf file plus done a net join from the shell which has worked, however the Web front end is now missing all options so I've done a factory reset.
How does frontview store its configuration? There must be a database or file I can edit to set the domain options?
