Replacement for READYNAS DUO v1 (500GB: 1 X 500GB) Model / Version: RND2150 v1
Hello,
My READYNAS DUO v1, model # RND2150 v1 has just died. A very bad burning smell was coming from it. I quickly removed my hard drives and am now looking for what the most logical replacement should be.
Is there a NAS out there that would be compatible with my old NAS so that it will read my old hard drives. My current harddrives are Seagate 500 Gbyte hard drives.
I'd appreciate your feedback of what to buy next.
Thank you!

Unfortunately not. https://kb.netgear.com/29876/ReadyNAS-Migrating-disks-from-RAIDiator-4-1-or-RAIDiator-5-3-to-ReadyNA...
But you can offload the data on the NAS. R-linux for Windows is one free tool that you can use: https://www.r-studio.com/free-linux-recovery/
You need to connect drive 1 of the NAS to the PC - either using windows or a USB adapter/dock. It won't work with drive 2 (and in some rare cases, things end up swapped so it will work with drive 2, but not drive 1).
If you were to purchase a new ReadyNAS, you could also engage paid support to temporarily mount your old disks so you could copy off the data. They would charge for that, so I'd look into the free options first.
