Firefly/Squeezecenter and empty/missing iTunes Playlists
Besides the normal issues encountered with resolving Music paths... I found an issue with how Fire Fly and Squeezecenter parse iTunes playlists out of the iTunes Library.xml.
If you are having problems where:
1. Fire Fly and Squeezecenter successfully imports music from iTunes...
2. Yet, Fire Fly imports playlists that are all empty...
3. And squeezecenter fails to import any iTunes playlists
Then you might have encountered this bug. Basically, the way Squeezecenter parses iTunes Library.xml, it must process <key>Tracks<key> *first* before it processes Playlists. So I edited the iTunes Library.xml to move the <key>Playlists<key> section (and all it's data) so it occurs after <key>Tracks<key> and data.
After doing this, and rescanning media... squeezecenter found all my iTunes playlists!
And for giggles, I checked FireFly... after a rescan, all my Playlists now had songs (and no longer empty!)
So it seems the same order-dependent logic reading iTunes Library.xml effects both programs.
Hope this helps anyone who still can't figure out why their playlists are not importing correctly.
