I have just had an issue with deleting files but it was not the permissions that were the problem but the path length.
The folders were nested very deep and the path had reached the max for the OS. (Windows 7 Vista 260 characters Windows XP 250 Characters)
The error massage in Windows was "Unable to Delete" rather than the usual access denied.
The solution was to map the share as a drive part way along the path to reduce the path length.
As an example.
\\ReadyNas\sharename\folder1\folder2\folder3\folder4\folder5\ etc....
Map the drive to folder4 so the path becomes
Z:\folder5\ etc...
If the mapping is made only to the share name then the reduction in the path length will be small. I think this may be why in previous posts this has worked for some people but not others.
I hope others find this useful.
