2.4 ghz not password protected

Currently, my 5 ghz is password proteted but my 2.4 ghz is not. When I go and select this security option WPA2-PSK [AES] and add a password on it, it does not show that a password is needed. I would just make the 2.4 ghz unavailable except that we have products that can only be used on the 2.4. I there a way to make it secure beyond what I am doing?

@hnoble,

Thank you for the update. Did you try to reset the Cable gateway? If not yet please do so and set it up again and see if that resolves the issue.

Please do not hesitate to let me know if you need further assistance.

Re: 2.4 ghz not password protected

Hi hnoble,

Welcome to NETGEAR Community!

First of all, we do apologize for the inconvenience of not getting back to you immediately due to the backlog in the system. Do you still have this problem securing the 2.4 Ghz wireless network? Have you tried resetting the router? What is the model of your router?

Please do not hesitate to let me know if you need further assistance.

Regards,

Oliver

Yes I am still having this problem. I have tried resetting multiple times. The model is a C6300v2. Attached are photos the illustrate the issue.  2.jpg1.jpg

There should be, but how many of us know what you're doing?

"tried" how, exactly?  What happened whan you did whatever you did?

Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look
for Documentation.  Get the User Manual (at least).  Read.  Look for
"Factory Settings" and "Specify Basic WiFi Settings".  Is there a
non-empty passphrase for both radio bands?

Re: 2.4 ghz not password protected

I have already read through the documentation and reset to factory settings as described in the manual. That is why I have asked this question on the forum, as the current documentation was not helpful in resolving my issue.
