Can't port forward
Hello, for the past year or so I've been trying to port forward the port 25565 to host a dedicated Minecraft server for me and my friends. I was always able to join with my local ipv4 address but my ...
Well you see, I don't have a lot of knowledge about internet/router tech. I know some of the basics I guess but not any more than that.
I looked into the discussion you linked but I'm not sure if any of those are my problems, since I don't understand all of it. The first paragraph was about "Wrong External IP Address" and I am trying to port forward 7777. Is this the right way to do it?(Check screenshot) When I choose Internal IP Address I should choose my desktop pc/the device I'm trying to host the server on, right?

Think, for a moment, about how little useful information that
non-description conveys to the non-psychics in your audience.
Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look
for Documentation. Get the User Manual. Read. Look for "Specify
Internet Port Settings" and "Set Up Port Forwarding to a Local Server".

That's one of "The usual problems with this stuff". Questions
follow. Look for "?". If something there is unclear, and reading the
User Manual doesn't help, then you might try revealing what that unclear
part is. People here can sometimes answer an actual question. Not much
can be done (in a reasonable amount of time) with "I don't understand
all of it."

Your picture shows a plausible port-forwarding rule for port 7777 and
a server with IP address "192.168.1.150". If that's where your "a
dedicated Terraria server" can be found, then it looks ok to me.
But a bad port-forwarding rule is only one of "The usual problems
with this stuff".

Near "Documentation" on the "Support / R6220" page is "Downloads",
where you can find a newer "Hot Fix" firmware kit. I wouldn't bet that
it would affect your current problem, but you might keep it in mind.
In response to your response about the picture of my port forwarding i provided; Yes, 192.168.1.150 is my PCs ipv4 address, the one you're supposed to pick when port forwarding.
I also tried making a new rule in the Windows 10 firewall that allows connection through the port 7777.
I have no idea what I'm supposed to do now. Is it possible for you to give me some kind of instructions step by step? As I said before, I'm not very knowledgable when it comes to this.
If you look at the picture I uploaded, you can see that the question "Does your Internet connection require a login?" is answered No. Should I change anything on this page or is this fine the way it is? I'm not sure if it is related to port forwarding at all. And yes, it requires a password to access my Wi-Fi, it's secured with WPA2-PSK [AES].

that address into the form at: https://whois.arin.net/ .As you can see, that's not a public IP address. My guess would be
that your ISP is using carrier-grade NAT, and that's defeating your

The only solutions I know are: 1) to ask your ISP for a real public
address (for which they might charge more), or 2) to use a tunneling

Some ISPs do not permit servers for residential customers, but I'm
confident that they'll tell you that if you ask.
