Firmware upgrade 1.1.00.38 to 1.1.00.40 fails and process completes, still shows ver 1.1.00.38

Hi Help needed please, Firmware upgrade 1.1.00.38 to 1.1.00.40 fails and the process completes, router restarts and connects to the internet, but the router still shows ver 1.1.00.38 when reconnect...

    Trying to do the Firmware upgrade 1.1.00.38 to 1.1.00.40 fails and process completes, still shows ver 1.1.00.38

     

    Of course this is an ebay job....Jan 2019

     

    However I have had the router for years, and done at least three upgrades previously, all successful. I know this as I have the files on the pc...

     

    Tried with the files in different locations on the pc, and downloaded several times...
