Internet randomly drops AC1200
Hello, I've been dealing with this problem for a while now and until then I've been just ignoring it but now it's really starting to get to me. As the title states, my internet connection randomly drops or I get random packet losses. I use this router in-line with a CAT6 outdoor ethernet cable that runs outside to the other side of my house and is connected to my PC via ethernet. Speeds are near maximum but every now and then I would get random packet losses and happens more often when I am playing games and has caused me to lose a few matches. Can someone please help me? This has gotten really annoying. Anything helps. Thank you!

What Netgear device do you own? AC1200 is not a reliable guide to model number. Many devices come with an AC tag, but it is essentially a label that Netgear, and other brands, attach to hardware to describe wifi speeds.
Look at the label on the device for the model number.
What firmware version do you have on the device?
A number is more useful than "the latest". (It may not be by the time people read this.) There can also be newer versions, or "hot fixes", that do not show up if you check for new firmware in the browser interface.
It might also help if you told people what the modem is in front of this router, if there is one. The model number could be useful. Is it, by any chance, also a router, with a set of LAN ports on the back?
The reason for asking is that a lot of people turn up here trying to put a router behind a modem that is also a router. That can complicate troubleshooting.
You say that the internet connection randomly drops. Is that wifi? Wired? Both?
What actually happens? What do the LEDs on your router show?
Apologies for all the questions. But you can help people to help you by providing the information suggested in this forum's header:
Subject (Include model number and brief summary)
Model (Recommended - Helps the community give the best answers)
Body (Include additional detail including model version, firmware, OS and environment where relevant.)
They are there for a good reason.

Re: Internet randomly drops AC1200
Oh my god I didn't even see that I put the wrong information I just looked at the box and the first thing I saw was what I put sorry about the little information I put I will update the post. I have a NETGEAR WAC104 running version V1.0.4.17. This router is connected as an extension from the main gateway which is an XFINITY TG4482A and is connected to the 2.5 gigabit port. Internet drops happens on both wired and wireless but on my phone it's just seen as the internet disconnected and on my computer which is connected to the extender with ethernet is seen as packet loss. When internet suddenly drops as far as I can remember the lights don't change they just flash rapidly like normal. That's all the information that I think I can provide. Again sorry for the little information.

You have a "gateway" that already includes a router.
You have added to that the WAC104 which bills itself as a Wireless Access Point. As such it needs to be set up properly to work with the gateway.
While many questions about routers are generic and could be answered anywhere, some things need specialist knowledge.
You might get more help, and find earlier questions and answers specific to your device, in the appropriate section for your hardware. That's probably here:
WiFi Range Extenders & Nighthawk Mesh - NETGEAR Communities
In the meantime you could visit the support pages:
Support | NETGEAR
Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware. Look at the label on the device for the model number.
Check for various troubleshooting tips.
You may have done this already. I can't tell from your message.
I mention it because Netgear stopped supplying printed manuals and CD versions some years ago and people sometimes miss the downloads.
