Jamming Device being used to access my Netgear Nighthawk.
Some crimminals are accessing my Netgear Nighthawk network to hide themselves from my cameras. I want to stop them from this activity. My Internet provider stated to hide my Network. I have read here in the community that I should not hide my network. Does anyone have another suggestion to stop the jammer? Apparently they can still access the network even though I have blocked access and have a strong password, which I have changed multiple times.

Why do you suspect they're "jamming" the network? My car was being vandalized I reviewed my camera from the day before and noticed a person walking down the street and they disappeared. I rewatched the tape multiple times. I turned on the block access to my Netgear Nighthawk AC 1900 WIFI Cale Modem Router, and changed the password.
How are they accessing it? After I did the above I reviewed the cameras the next day and noticed someone walking toward the house pointing a device at my home. They passed the house and then came back pointing the device at the house. The person stood in front of my house pointing the device. I noticed whatever the device is it was the size of a cell phone and it was flashing. The following night they did the same thing and came back again at 2:15 AM and with the same outfit on, stood in front of my car dancing moving up and down in front of my car. The following night I saw the same person on camera sitting on an electrical box beside my home. The events happen at night and I see them after reviewing my camera tape.
What actually happens? See above. Do you loose connection? I am not sure that connection is being lost as the events usually happen while I am asleep.
Do the cameras go down? The cameras continue to function, the device they are using makes them invisible to my cameras. After doing the above I noticed my car was vandalized again and they threw dirt from a pot at my front door on the floor.
We need actual details of whats happening as well as specifics to your devices.
Specifically they are jamming my router and targeting my cameras. I was advised by my Internet provider to hide my network, so that it is not visible to the jamming device that is being used and to report it to the police. I had already reported this and shown the police the video. They said they can't arrest someone for pointing something at my home or the other activity on camera. They have to see the person actually vandalizing my car or property. The police suggested that I use a WYZE camera that is wireless. I want to hide my network.
What nighthawk is it? Netgear Nighthawk AC 1900 WIFI Cale Modem Router
What camera's are you using? Bullet Dome 4K surveillance camera. Built in night vision 2160p wide angle lens, 4 channel NVR with built in PoE. Cability of 2160p@30FPS. The application that supports the cameras is Sibell.
What happens to the cameras? The cameras are being jammed and I am not able to see the individual. The dirt from the pot was to let me know they still have access to my cameras after I made the changes. I believe the only way to prevent this reoccurance is to hide my network. If you can advise how to hide my network that would be helpful.

1. if your cameras are hardwired in, hiding your wifi isn't going to change a thing. And unless they're connecting a computer to the ethernet cord going to the camera, they're not accessing your network.
2. If there was some gadget that only hid a single person when they wanted, robbery would boom as then people wouldn't be on cameras. If the whole video goes down, maybe their aiming an IR emitter at the camera that is overwhelming the lens/optics. But that'd take down the whole camera's video and not just single person.
why don't you just buy a cheap battery powered camera and hide it so they can't "flash their device" at it. If it is an IR emitter, they've only got 1 device so could only hit one at once. Plus if you hide the 2nd one and you know where they usually are, you can get a good view. Leave the older camera so they still think they're blocking it.

I like your idea, the only thing is the range of the emitter that they are directing at my camera. I have two cameras facing the front of the house where my car is parked. If I hide another camera facing the front won't the emitter effect it as well? I did purchase a WYZE camera for outside but I have not installed it as yet. I have to figure out a place to put it to avoid the emitter from jamming it

an IR immitter is only going to block camera's that use an IR sensor at night.
If that's actually whats going on (you haven't shown us any videos or anything), simple disable IR mode and place a motion sensor light so when there motion, it lights up the person and the camera captures it.

I tried to contact the company that installed the device but he does not respond either through text or to return my call. Your solution sounds like the answer, but I don't know how to do it as the installer did not give me instructions for its use other than simple things. I figured out how to save the recordings of the activity, however, I don't know how to send them. When they access the camera it goes blank and the screen is gray.

If that isn't something you can implement, then check into a battery powered wireless security camera that you can place somewhere hidden that won't be blocked. There's a bunch on amazon.

I would like to hide my network but I don't know how. I would like to try this step before making another purchase. Are you familiar with how to hide a Netgear Network? Please let me know.
