Mandatory Registration
SCREW YOUR MANDATORY REGISTRATION.
How dare you?
I buy a piece of hardware and you idiots tell me I can't use it unless I fork over personal information.
Go screw yourselves. This is going back to Amazon and I'll not be purchasing another netgear product EVER. TP-Link is looking pretty good..

I know of no Netgear routers that demand personal information before you can use them. Mine don't.
Perhaps you could explain what device you own, what you are doing and where things go wrong.
Manuals are always a good place to start.
Visit the support pages:
Support | NETGEAR
Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware.
That page will also have any software, firmware and drivers for your device, if they exist.
Look for the model number on the label on the device.
Begin with the Quick Start/Installation Guide.
