My Netgear password changed backed to default password.

Nighthawk AC1900 wfifi cable modem router: it seems the the custom password I had has been changed back to default.  I come home after a 3 day business trip; and can't figure out why None of my devices were connecting. After several attempts I try the default. It works. I try to login into the nighthawk app. User name : admin. Password is password...it keeps saying incorrect.  Have I been hacked? Should I replace?

    Doubt you've been hacked. Probably just your isp updating firmware or sending a reset since they control the firmware/reset actions being a combo device. 

    I'd just factory reset and do a clean install on the modem/router combo device (not from backup). 

     

    (BTW, AC1900 is a speed, not a model)
