NETGEAR CG3100 L WIFI ACTIVATION
Hello,
i'm using the NETGEAR box CG3100L , but unfortunately I'm not able to activate the wifi.
I press the wifi button for the activation but the led still turned off and I don't know how can I solve this issue.
Thanks at all that will help!

I see no sign of that device in the Netgear support system.
There are a few mentions of the CG3100 in the community, but they seem to be about cable modem/routers that Netgear makes, or made about a decade ago, for ISPs. You would do better to ask whoever provided you with this thing.

I don't know what you mean by "activation" for wifi. The wifi buttons on most devices are just on/off switches.
In the case of cable modems, activation is something that happens at the ISP when you connect your modem to the network.

Re: NETGEAR CG3100 L WIFI ACTIVATION
Looking up the CG3100L led down a rabbit hole. Looks like it was a direct to ISP cable modem.
Not much on netgear site for it other than the gpl info.
Its a pretty base model N300 router with a docsis 3.0 modem in it.
You can try pushing and holding the wifi on/off button for 2-3 seconds if the wifi was disabled through the hardware button.
If not, what exactly do you mean by activating the wifi?

Re: NETGEAR CG3100 L WIFI ACTIVATION
Hi,
thank you for your answer.
Right now I can connect my laptot at internet only by using the ethernet cable and the wifi doesen't work!
The led the informe you about the wifi status is permanently turn off and even if I press it , it doesent work!
With "wifi activation" I mean the possibilities to connect my pc to the web in a wirless way and not just with the cable!

Re: NETGEAR CG3100 L WIFI ACTIVATION
I have tried it, but even if I press the button, the wifi's led doesent turn on, so I can't connect my devices to the web by using the wifi, but only with the ethernet cable.

Re: NETGEAR CG3100 L WIFI ACTIVATION
Can you see it broadcasting?
can you see it but not connect to it?
Can you connect but it says "connected, no internet"
"doesn't work" isn't very specific.
Did you try factory resetting it and reinstalling it?
Or logging in through the browser to see if the ssid broadcast was disabled?

Remember, to get on to the wifi, your devices have to be properly set up.
But not knowing anything about this CG3100, which Netgear doesn't support, who knows what is happening at your end?
