NetGear ac1600 R6250 Wifi slow, Help very much appreciated.
Ok, so comcast put me into another tier bracket with 600Mbps, so I bought another modem and kept this router. I mean it is a gb router it says right, 300+1600. Network cable straight from router after disabling qos and making sure no other filtering was on I got the speeds I was offered sometimes 500Mbps, but then sometimes 720Mbps, Cool Right?
Wifi:
Another story, I've tried on 3 devices and also tried with only 1 device attached to the 5hz.
5hz: 270-290Mbps - wifes apple 12 pro
240-260Mbps - Samsung S8
300-340Mbps - 2.5gb lan on Msi gaming edge mobo.
2.4ghz very slow 30-45Mbps all devices. (300) supposely?
I know each of these could be flux from people around me, interference ect, yet still no where near my 600Mbps.
This router is supposed to be able to push in a perfect world 1300Mbps 5ghz and 300 2.4ghz. Hence why I bought it years ago at such a expensive price, so when I could get faster internet in my area.
Router firmware that I did from logging into router is V1.0.4.38_10.1.30. and that is all it will find.
Now on the webpage for the ac1600 r6250 is shows 1.0.4.48, odd that my router connecting to netgear didn't find this. I have not firmware updated to this one yet because I'm a little hesitant since my router couldn't even find it.
Any Solutions to why my router isn't pushing the speeds it claims? I have not factory reset either as I don't want to have to reconfig everything again if not needed..
Thanks, and sorry for a long post, I was trying to be Clear.

There are two very different things there. The gigabit router refers to the speed of the wired LAN and WAN ports. So your R6250 can talk to the modem and other devices on the local network at 1000 Mbps.
The 300+1600 refers to wifi technologies. Your wifi devices will never carry traffic at those speeds. For a start, few wifi clients come anywhere near those speeds in real life.

Have you tried using these wifi clients in different places? You might be surprised to find that they all deliver similar results.

I don't know where you got the impression that the R6250 is an expensive piece of kit. It is low down in the pecking order for Netgear routers. First released eight years ago, at AC1600 it is also several generations behind today's wifi technology. Even back then Netgear made "faster" routers, such as the R7000 (AC1900) and R7700 (AC2350).
It might be worth a bit of background reading.
