Orbi RBK852 Wired backhaul setup using switch

I’m trying to connect the 1 router and 1 satellite (RBK852) to a switch in order to setup the wireless backhaul setup as shown in the attached image (1 network cable from each device to a switch). The satellite unit seems to accomplish this okay however the router doesn’t behave in the same way. It just glows purple and does not provide internet access. It is not possible to see the Orbi system on the app when setup in this way.
What am I doing wrong? Thanks for any help!

That looks more like wired backhaul.

What is Ethernet backhaul and how do I set it up on my Orbi WiFi System? - NETGEAR Support

Does the router connect to the Internet when you remove the connection to the switch?

You need to achieve that before you add the satellites.

While many questions about routers are generic and could be answered anywhere, some things need specialist knowledge.

You might get more help, and find earlier questions and answers specific to your device, in the appropriate section for your hardware. That's probably here:

Orbi WiFi 6 (AX) and WiFi 6E (AXE) - NETGEAR Communities

You might like to search there for messages related to your problem.

I will ask the Netgear moderator to move your message.

In the meantime you could visit the support pages:

Support | NETGEAR

Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware. Look at the label on the device for the model number.

Check for various troubleshooting tips.

You may have done this already. I can't tell from your message.

I mention it because Netgear stopped supplying printed manuals and CD versions some years ago and people sometimes miss the downloads.
