Port Forwarding "add custom service" button is not working R6220

when i go to add a custom service for port forwarding nothing happens when i click on the "add custom service" button. I am trying to forward TCP for a program i use and can't add that to the services because it is not a default option and i can't even get to the page to input information for a custom service. I have tried using 4 different web browsers, rebooting the router and my computer, and looking for this same problem on a number of different sites. Any suggestions as to what i should try next would be nice.

Thank you in advance.

p.s. Sorry if this is in the wrong discussion group pages.

   Firmware version?  Connected to what?

Which kind of "nothing"?  You just stay on the same page (frame set)?
Normally, I'd expect the main frame to change to something with a heading like
"Ports - Custom Services" (after a few seconds).  If that doesn't
happen for mutiple browsers, then I'd worry about the health of the
firmware.  (But I'd probably try a different computer, too.)  You might
try manually loading a different version, or reloading the same one.

Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look
for Downloads. (For older versions, under Firmware and Software
Downloads, look for "View Previous Versions".)  Find the kit(s).
Download the kit(s) you want.  Read the "Release Notes" file for
instructions.  (In the User Manual, look for "firmware", and,
especially, for a topic like "Manually Upload Firmware to the Router".)
When that fails because of a deficient User Manual, try:

      https://kb.netgear.com/23960
      https://kb.netgear.com/31573

Any other controls on the interface misbehaving?

It's not something I recall having seen elsewhere.

The router has the latest firmware update installed and it is connected to a university internet (which i have been promised is does not interfer with this kind of issue). as for the nothing. it is a complete and total nothing. the page and frame don't change it is as if the button is not actually connected to the software's backend. i click it and it does nothing. no change what so ever.

I will try your suggestions though.

As always, an actual version number would be more useful than your
opinion of what's "the latest" today.

How would you describe a screen which went completely blank?
Wouldn't _that_ be "nothing"?

   That conveys more information.

It still sounds to me like a firmware problem.  Whether the problem
is limited to what's installed on your device, or it's a more general
problem, I can't say.
