R6220

Hi, I have the latest firmware and I'm having trouble accessing Wi-Fi. Once setup is started, it cannot be disabled or disabled. Enable access control, when it turns out to be disabled, after changing and saving, the new configuration is not saved.

I'm having a hard time understanding your problem.

Start at the beginning. Can you explain what you mean by "having trouble accessing Wi-Fi".

The rest is also hard ro follow. What does this mean?

Once setup is started, it cannot be disabled or disabled.

What are you doing and where does it go wrong?

What firmware version do you have on the device?

A number is more useful than "the latest". There may be newer versions, or "hot fixes", that do not show up if you check for new firmware in the browser interface.

If there is one it might also help if you told people the make and model number of the modem/gateway/ONT that sits between this router and the Internet. Is it, by any chance, also a router, with a set of LAN ports on the back?

I ask because a lot of people turn up here trying to put a router behind a modem that is also a router. That can complicate troubleshooting.

Re: R6220

So once again: I have a router R6220 Firmware version: V1.1.0.114_1.0.1. As I enter the access control section, this device shows that this mode is disabled, but in the status and physically is enabled the former. Secondly, this mode can not be turned off or on again, after pressing Apply nothing changes the application does not respond. Thirdly, and most importantly, I can't set permissions for new wifi devices.

Where is this "access control section". Are you referring to something on the Nighthawk app on your mobile device?

Start by explaining what you are trying to do?

Are you trying to manage how wifi devices connect to your router?

Secondly, this mode can not be turned off or on again, after pressing Apply nothing changes the application does not respond.

Which "mode" is this?

Where are you doing this? Where is this Apply button?

Again, is this in an app? In the browser graphical user interface (GUI)?

Thirdly, and most importantly, I can't set permissions for new wifi devices.

Where are you doing this?(See above.)

What permissions are you trying to set?

You did not tell us what modem you have. It might be important.

Re: R6220

I want to set wifi access permissions from the GUI. I could always do this by assigning for a given MAC whether it has access rights or not, for some time it has not been possible. On the left side of the menu in advanced mode is the menu item security, access. I attached a screen.

Re: R6220

the access control section is in the router's control panel via a browser??
I just need it to start working because it is currently turned on and I cannot grant access to new devices or change anything in it, even turn it off. The router model is at the same top of the article?? connection with the screen image? Ask the same questions all the time. The topic is simple in the router's GUI is a menu item that connects devices for devices to Wi-Fi, not dealing with the modem but with the Wi-Fi router.

That screenshot shows what to do.

Re: R6220

but I know how to manage access to devices through MAC but this option has stopped working, although it is enabled now signals that it is disabled, as it wants to turn on and confirm does not work, so I can not set which MAC addresses have permissions

Re: R6220

You never did tell us what the  modem is.

But if this is something that started after you installed new firmware, try reinstalling an earlier version.

Re: R6220

In one place it writes that access control is enabled and so it is, and in the settings it shows that it is disabled and it is impossible to change it.

Where is that "one place"?

Provide as much detail as possible. So far is has been difficult trying to track down what is going on from your messages.

In access control, it shows that it is disabled, which is not true, and in the list of connected devices it writes that it is enabled.
