It didn’t, it has just happened again. Firmware is v1.0.4.122_10.0.95, when I check for newer versions it says none is available.

Try downgrading the firmware a version or 2. I've seen reports on the .122 firmware of issues.
- rgjacobsenFeb 14, 2022TutorI have just read that someone had problems installing firmware manually with this model. In any case, how would I downgrade? I would need the previous firmware file, does Netgear have that available for downloading?

If you go to the support site, click on downloads, then click on "view previous versions"
Download the one you want and extract it.
Then from there you follow the manual firmware update process but instead of using newer firmware, you use the one you downloaded.

Thanks for your help. I went back to the previous version, in the middle of a new episode of Internet being down for wireless devices. The mobile app doesn't help, it often times out while I'm entering the password when logging in. It also didn't let me log in after the new firmware was installed, I had to use my laptop instead, it offered me to create a new password and that solved it. Now I'll wait and see if the latest firmware was the culprit.
