R6400v2 not showing up in network list when setting up
Recently upgraded my spectrum internet with higher speeds, got a different router from them with 6e. Still terrible because the router and modem are far away and have to go through walls and doors to...

Have a R6400v2 from years ago try setting it up through the app but the step after it sets up the router and all the lights come on I have to connect to it through my network settings on my phone but netgear never shows up on my list of networks.
Are you trying to connect the R6400v2 to another router?
If so, do you want to wire the R6400v2 to the other router?
If you want a wired connection then you should read the section in the manual Enable bridge mode.

Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware.
This is not something that you can do with an app. You need a web browser and the graphical user interface (GUI). This will work on a mobile device and its browser, just forget about the app.

What is this network list on your phone or pc. The SSID for the wifi?
What did the ISP supply?
A modem? Modem/router? Two separate devices?
I would be surprised if the R6400v2, based on a model from 2015, provided better wifi than anything recent. It certainly doesn't support 6e, but that needs wifi clients that can use 6 GHz.

LIke michaelkenward says, if the spectrum one is 6E, its going to be more capable than the R6400. Its an older base model device from the AC generation. The 6E is a generation newer and more capable.
It sounds like your house is either larger, or made from materials that do a good job blocking wifi.
Depending on which it is would change the recommendation.
What size is the home?
What are the interior walls made from?
Things like stucco, brick, concrete, plaster lathe, all do a good job blocking wifi.
If its a size issue, simply moving to a mesh system is an option and you could use their wireless backhaul.
If its a issue of the interior walls blocking wifi, then you'd want to check into a wired backhaul for the mesh system. Powerline adapters, moca adapters (ethernet over coax) or running ethernet runs in the house would be worth investing in if its your home and not a rental.

Another odd thing is the app said name the new network after the old one and your devices will connect automatically. Did not work had to change the name.
