R6400v2 seemingly limiting speeds for wired connections
I just upgraded my internet service to 500 Mbps. When I use a wired connection directly from the cable modem to my PC, I get ~550 Mbps on fast.com and on ookla speedtest. However, when I then plug the modem into my R6400v2 router and test speed again, I am only getting ~230 Mbps. Both tests were performed multiple times within about 5 minutes of one another with no other streaming or significant network activity.
The only custom setting I have on the router is assigning a static IP to another device on my network. I have downloaded and installed the latest firmware. What else should I be checking in terms of my router config to achieve better speed when using my wired connection into my router? Thanks!

Reset the router to forget its past ISP settings are take it through the router's Internet Setup Wizard to give it the new settings.
You should also start the network in the correct order:
- Turn off and unplug modem.
- Turn off router and computers.
- Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
- Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
- Turn on computers and rest of network.
The only custom setting I have on the router is assigning a static IP to another device on my network.
Static, is in fixed on the device? Or "reserved" as in set aside the router?
A reset will remove reserved addresses but won't change fixed static address.
