Registering
I purchased an Orbi from ebay which the sellar bought and registered on the 20 th December 2020. He sold it as his internet speed is very slow. I tried to register it but the system said it has already been registerd. I contacted the sellar and asked for the purchase details to pass on to customer services. He said he was given the Orbi as a gift and does not have the purchase details. He has also deleted the Orbi app from his phone so is unable to give me the pass word on the Orbi Log in screen in the app. Can anyone advise how to change the registered owner?

You don't neet to register it to use it. You can install it through the browser.
You can try contacting customer.services@netgear.com as the faq for registrations shows.

Thanks for your reply.
Can you advise how to do it through the browser? I have downloaded the Orbi app.
On the app I got as far as the Log in screen where the user name is Admim and a password is required. I tried the default passwor (password) but it said the password was not recognised. I tried the Forgot password button but that just went to a 404 error code.

If its a new device, factory reset it. the prior user might not of.
Push and hold reset for 7-15 seconds while its fully powered on.
that should get you back to the defaults.
You can set it up using the browser by going to the routerlogin . net site or using the routers IP address.
On new setups it usually says to use the app but there's a link at the bottom of the page for saying proceed or I don't have a mobile device. Can't remember off the top of my head what it says exactly.

Hi, once again thanks for your reply and advise. I will try using reset.
I tried setting the Orbi up begore using the Orbi app and got as far as the page to Login in to the router. Do I have to unplug the Orbi from my router and start again?
Also how do I find the routers IP address?

Also how do I find the routers IP address?----If you reset it, the default ip address is 192.168.1.1

I have reset the orbi to factory setting and have set it up and it seems to be working.
How do I add the Netgear Armor? In the security tab on the app it says Activate Trial, but I get an error message. I think thats because I am over the 30 day trial period.
What do I have to do to get the Armor?
