Just trying to download latest firmware update for RBR750.
Every time I download I get release notes and a .chk file.
I have tried with three different browsers.
Advice? Better source for download?
Thanks!!

The on-board test is notoriousy unreliable.

That's right.
The chk file is the new firmware. You have to load that on to your router.
How do I manually upgrade firmware to my NETGEAR router? | Answer | NETGEAR Support
As the release notes say, the manual will also tell you how to do it.
Visit the support pages:
Support | NETGEAR
Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware.
Check the section in the manual:
Update the router and satellite firmware

Re: Unable to download uncorrupted firmware update
Thanks, Guru! Ha! I took one look at it and thought that the .chk file was a corrupted file. I will follow your advice. Thank you so much for writing.

Re: Unable to download uncorrupted firmware update
Hey, Guru?
When I log in to to my router, I am given the option of automatic or manual update. Automatic says there is no new firmware, but according to what it says is the current firmware version (4.6.11.1) and what the Netgear website says is available, (4.6.14.3) there clearly IS a new firmware update. However when I go to do the manual update I get a warning:
"Uploading a firmware manually may cause incompatibility issues among Orbi devices. NETGEAR strongly suggests using Online Update to update your firmware. Do you still want to proceed? "
This makes me nervous.
Is it safe to proceed?

Re: Unable to download uncorrupted firmware update
Guru:
I did it. I found that there was a new satellite firmware update as well, though the orbi app says that there was none and the web based app says no firmware update avail, but again, clearly there was. So I updated the satellite first. Flawless update. !
Then I did the router. Flawlesss update. Rockin'and rollin' !
Thank you so much for your assistance!
