constantly pinging bitdefender

My r6400v2 (running V1.0.4.102_10.0.75) will not stop trying to contact www.netgear.com and about eight bitdefender subdomains. In the last week, it's run over 40,000 querries. I'm running a PiHole DNS server so have blocked this traffic. All other update checks seem to run and no other issues. I've never had the Armor/Bitdefender service so why, oh why, is my router generating so much traffic? Seriously, half my DNS lookups are just from this traffic.

First of all, we do apologize for the inconvenience of not getting back to you immediately due to the backlog in the system. That is in deed quite weird if you haven't had those features and applications installed on your network. Have you tried connecting your computer directly to the modem and see if it captures the same thing?
