outdated FVS318 router what to upgrade with?

We have an outdated fvs318 router.  What should I upgrade to?  I purchased a GS116 16 port Ethernet Unmanaged Switch, as I need more ports.  But I am unsure if I am making the right choice.  The fvs is a firewall, does the GS116 provide firewall protection?
