rename Attached Devices

When I look under "Attached Devices" in the router I see a lot of device names which have a meaningless names for me
like android-2637812647862. By checking the MAC adres or the IP adress at that devices i can find out which devices it is.
But it would be nice that i can change the name of these devices in my router, is that possible ???

i already installed the app "genie" on my smartphone. And there i can changed the names, but the router wil not take over these names.

the router which i have is: WNDR4500 – N900

Model: CENTRIA (WNDR4700/4720)|Media Storage Router

That's true. The unit has been EOL for a while.

Re: rename Attached Devices

Welcome to the community, @niekn

If you see Access Control feature under Security, you may change the device name there by turning on the feature.

Or see Address Reservation feature.

Re: rename Attached Devices

When you turn on Access Control and select the device, do you see Edit to be available for you to edit the device name?

Re: rename Attached Devices

Oh, do you have the latest firmware installed?

If you already have and still unable to see Edit then it cannot be changed.
