Re: unable to get into my router settings

I fixed the problem. I had an idea of just factory resetting the router and now it works. Thanks for your time @plemans @michaelkenward

Re: unable to get into my router settings

Sounds like you're trying to connect to the extender.

are you trying to access the router using the routers IP address?

Did the extender setup fine?

Have you tried a different browser? Pc?

Re: unable to get into my router settings

Tried using different different browser and still doesn't work. Tried entering my default extender IP address and it displays "Took too long to respond".

Re: unable to get into my router settings

the default IP address will change based on your router.

Log into your router and lookup what IP address the extender is connecting on.

Use that to try to access it.

Re: unable to get into my router settings

Found my extenders IP address which took me to create an account again. Nothing happens when clicking NEXT. The photo doesn't show it but i did fill in all those boxes before clicking NEXT.

If anythings wrong it won't work and will redo the page.

So make sure you're password  is compatible and so are the responses to the questions.

username use admin

Re: unable to get into my router settings

Try it one more time.

Use a different pc and browser. Then make sure to avoid any spaces or special characters in the password and security question section

That looks like the system is trying to force you to set up password recovery.

I am not familiar with the EX6200, but most stuff I have played with allows you to disable that "feature".

I know that Netgear "recommends that you leave password protection on to help keep your network secure", but as the passwords is a local thing,disabling it is no great threat of attack from the outside world. A decent password usually suffices,

If you are willing to take your life in your hands, try this bit of the manual "Turn Password Protection Off and On".

@plemans

Tried on a different PC with different browser ... same result.

I never put spaces or special characters.

@michaelkenward

I can't access password protection as i need to log into netgear to change it.

Re: unable to get into my router settings

If you reset the device, you will have to set it up again. Then there should be a way to bypass any "wizards" that try to help you to set up the device.

According to the manual (page 74) there should be an option to CONFIGURE MANUALLY.

Did you check the appropriate section for the EX6200:

WiFi Range Extenders & Nighthawk Mesh

I can see a few questions there on the same lines.

Glad it worked. As I suggested, a reset is often a good way out of those login issues.

Now that you have access, you can decide whether or not to enable password recovery.

And when the thing is set up to your satisfaction, it is a good idea to save a copy of your configuration. You can then reload that if you ever have to reset the thing again.
