Firmware update using GUI Vs. Smart Control Center

I have some switches that needs their firmware updated.  I tried updating one switch from the Smart Control Center just to see, and it said update complete, but even after logging back into the switch, I noticed that the firmware is still the same.

I also have one GS105E switch, oddly the firmware update on this switch was very easy.  I just logged into the switch from the web gui, and uploaded the file.

What's the recommended way of updating firmwares?

Re: Firmware update using GUI Vs. Smart Control Center

SCC (as current and in use) must be about 10 years old as of writing. Few older Smart Managed Pro switches or some firmware version updates can't be applied from the Web.

Are you aware that most Smart Managed Pro have two flash sections for two different firmware versions? Check the Web UI for the versions in place, and for the active one - adjust as required. Otherwise you can reboot a hundred times, and you will always get the old version only.
