I am running the latest version of Smart Control Center and when I click on Network and pick discovery after a progesss bar saying it's discovering all devices, nothing is found.
I can link to the GS516TP running the latest firmware from a mac computer running safari with the IP address. When I try that using Internet explorer V11 on a PC I get the beginings of a login screen that freezes and is blank.
Is there any wat to actually configure this switch on a PC?
Thanks

Netgear will only provide support if I give them money on this switch. I do not have an active support contract.
Even though this has never worked I do have a work around by using my Mac computer and a browser that can access the switch.
I don't plan on paying netgear money when I have a method to configure the switch.
I just wish their software actually worked.

Re: GS516TP Not Found using Smart Control Center
What other web browser would you suggest on a PC.
I to get to the logon screen and I can type my password in. The next screen looks like it is trying to log into the switch. I see the Netgear logo and a logout prompt but nothing other than that with IE 11 and Edge.
All works fine on the Mac browser.
I have tried edge without any luck either.

Re: GS516TP Not Found using Smart Control Center
I was able to get help from another computer expert.
After adding the switch IP address to the compatibility settings in Internet explorer I was able to make it work.
I am still not able to see the switch using Netgears software "Smart Control Center".
Maybe a firmware update of the switch is needed by Netgear?

Re: GS516TP Not Found using Smart Control Center
Have you already set the Smart Control Center utility to be on the Allowed Programs? If not yet, kindly check this link for Windows 10 and this link for Windows 7.
If ever you have already set it on the Allowed Programs, kindly try to uninstall the current version of the Smart Control Center utility on your PCs then try to install a lower version of Smart Control Center utility like v1.1.3.1 then check if the GS516TP will be detected. You may download the Smart Control Center utility versions here

Re: GS516TP Not Found using Smart Control Center
DaneA
I first checked to see if Smart Control Center is on the Allowed Programs. I found two instances of sccd that showed allowed for home networks.
I then uninstalled version 1.1.3.3 and installed 1.1.3.1 there was no difference.
I then uninstalled version 1.1.3.1 and installed 1.1.3.2 there was no difference. sccd still showed up as a allowed program twice.
I am not able to detect the switch using Smart Control Center.
Any other things I should try?

Re: GS516TP Not Found using Smart Control Center
I installed winPcap as requested using the compatibility mode on a windows 7 computer. I then rebooted the computer and launched the Smart Control Center software ver 1.1.3.2 and had exactly the same results.
After selecting Discover the program says it's initilaizing with a progress bar and nothing is discovered.
Any thing else I should try?

Re: GS516TP Not Found using Smart Control Center
I'm sorry to know that the support warranty on the GS516TP has already expired. However, for me, its better to manage the switch through its web-GUI via a browser. But of course, it would be best to have the Smart Control Center utility work as well.
