Port Mirroring GS105Ev2
I've mirrored src port 1 to dest port 4, but when I wireshark the promiscuous interface connected to this port, I'm seeing only typical broacast traffic. I'm seeing the poirt "Recieve" the expected amount of bytes. I hae a susicion that this is not a true mirrored port, but a "one-way" window. Why is the mirrow not a perfect "on-wire" mirror of sent and received bytes?
Re: Port Mirroring GS105Ev2
It should be a full mirror the the majority of traffic. What might be not mirrored can be LLDP, LACP, and the like - things that happen before the links are established - but this is typically not what users are behind.
Ensure your switch is on the current firmware, check https://netgear.com/support/ -> GS105E v2 and update in case. Do a factory reset. If the issue remains, chime back here and provide a screenshot of your mirroring configuration along with firmware version.
Could be potentially a problem with the system and interface where you run Wireshark btw., too.
A while ago, there was a bootloader update required for the GS105Ev2 - https://community.netgear.com/t5/Smart-Plus-Click-Switches/GS105Ev2-Bootloader-version/td-p/1601125 - 188.8.131.52/184.108.40.206-VB (two hardware versions exist!) which came along with the 220.127.116.11 (yeah) firmware only. This might have an impact on the reliable operations, too.
