"Netgear support are unable to resolve your issue"

Yaaay

1: take out the HDD Check
2: throw the stora in the attic. Check
3: buy a Synology Disk Station DS211j Check
4: Problem solved Check

Hallo,

same problem for me. No windows explorer access.
Actually run the recovery process.

No support or answer from here or axenta.

Hope it will work.

Yes you are right. But I found a solution for me. Have an corrupted filesystem on both HDDs of RAID1.

See my thread:

I am not sure if this will help out your problem but: first you should set up stora for sharing. then the share paths you can map to are : \\stora\mycomputers \\stora\familylibary \\stora\mylibrary

I also had to restart the stora for this to work and go to the sharing part and save. Maybe my problem will come back ... but for the moment it works.

Re: Can't connect to stora via windows Explorer, only FTP and mystora.com

I am having the same problem but mine is slightly different in that I have 1 other laptop and a netbook as well as a philipps stremium connected to it but my new windows 7 laptop can see the stora but cannot connect to it via explorer.

I can log onto it using my browser to mystora.com but not on explorer.

I guess no one from Netgear Support dare not answer any of our questions less they might actually be useful...

They are seriously going to lose customers this way... NETGEAR.. silence is not bliss in this case.. start helping the customers that actually keep you afloat..

Re: Can't connect to stora via windows Explorer, only FTP and mystora.com

hard reset - same problems

http:\\stora\ gets me the admin web page
http:\\ip address\ gets me the web page
http:\\www.mystora.com\ logs me in and gets me admin page

ftp:\\ gets me in
ssh gets me to a login screen

no dnla/upnp clients can see it (can see other server)

windows can see stora as Computer in Network

windows 7 cannot acess it to map drives from multiple laptops.

get a windows cannot acess \\stora error

if i diagnose i get

the remote device or resource won't accept the connection

any offers?

I'm no unix admin so go gentle if I need to do something in SSH I don't want to loose data that's why I got the stora and raided it LOL.

Re: Can't connect to stora via windows Explorer, only FTP and mystora.com

To solve this Windows connection error I got a tip from sevenforums.com:

"Had this the other day with one of my Windows 7 boxes. You can manually enter login credentials for shares though control panel > user accounts and family safety > credential manager > Windows credentials > add a Windows credential"

That solved my connection problem.
