A7000 and macOS Monterey, Version 12.5

The drive software won't install and won't give any explanation beyond:
"An error occurred during installation.

The Installation failed.

The Installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance."

This is on a 13-inch 2020 Macbook Pro, running macOS Monterey, Version 12.5.

The software DOES seem to install on my 27" Late 2014 5k Retina iMac, running macOS Big Sur, Version 11.7.6.

BUT does not seem to ever recognize the adapter being plugged in, with or without the dock.

This is NEEDED for a job tomorrow. Can anybody provide me any assistance please??

I'm feeling like these drivers just aren't compatible with these OS versions...

The last time I looked, Netgear still had not updated adapter drivers to support recent versions macOS.

This saga has been going on for a few years, so you may be out of luck.

Talking of https://kb.netgear.com/000062424/A7000-Software-Version-1-0-0-13-Mac or of what ever prehistorical drivers made available a decade ago with the product?

@schumaku Of course I'm talking about version 1.0.0.13...
Why would I be trying to install a decade old driver? 🙄

Does the Mac driver have the same option as Windows?

There you can choose between drivers or drivers with management software.

This is the same conclusion I have come to.
And Netgear refuses to admit that there is a compatibility issue.
Their customer support people think that the device and its drivers should be compatible with any Mac OS after 10.8.

To the point where after a 2 hour long customer support call, they came to the conclusion that I must have gotten a faulty device and want to replace it for me.

But I installed the github application and the adapter itself works just fine (on two different macs, one running Big Sur 11.7.6 and the other Monterey 12.5).

Unfortunately, I had to turn off my SIP...so it's not a longterm solution.
BUT it's 100% not the device and 100% these crappy, outdated drivers.

No, if I'm understanding correctly, it does not. There are very few options when trying to install the Netgear driver on a Mac. And there is no real management software. It's just basically a tray icon with a dropdown menu.
