A8000 no connection

Hi, I buy and have an A8000 (AXE3000) wifi USB adapter that I want to use in conjunction with my Nighthawk M6Pro when my ethernet Internet connection is not working.
My Desktop PC runs on Windows 10 with the latest updates installed.
The A8000 is installed on this PC with the program that is on the included USB flash drive.
The A8000 is enabled in the configuration network connections in Windows. If I disable the Ethernet connection I get no internet connection with the A8000.
I get a message that the driver program of A8000 needs to be updated while I can't find an update anywhere at Netgear.
I was expecting an application with the A8000 where I could make a selection in wifi access points. So I don't understand how to get visible wifi access points visible in some application.
There is no separate wifi adapter in my desktop PC.
I used in the past an Asus AC-56 wifi adapter and with it was a program where you could select a wifi access point from the list that the usb adapter received.
Can anyone help or give a sugestion?

    Message from what? Windows?

     

    If I disable the Ethernet connection I get no internet connection with the A8000.

    Why would you do that? There is n bo need to switch off the LAN in Windows to use wifi.

    Windows does that. Network & Internet settings
